Clear answers before you invest.

Solar and batteries involve technology, network rules and financial assumptions. These answers cover the common starting points.

01Is solar still worthwhile?

It can be, but the result depends on roof suitability, system cost, electricity use, tariffs and how much solar energy is consumed on site. A tailored assessment is more useful than a generic payback claim.

02Do solar panels work on cloudy days?

Yes. Output is lower when sunlight is reduced, but panels can still generate electricity under cloud cover.

03What system size do I need?

The right size depends on available roof area, annual and daytime consumption, network limits, budget and future plans such as a battery or electric vehicle.

04Will I still need an electricity retailer?

Most grid-connected properties keep an electricity retailer. The grid supplies power when solar and battery output do not meet demand.

05Can I add a battery to existing solar?

Often yes, but compatibility depends on the existing inverter, switchboard, phase configuration, available space and the battery architecture selected.

06Will a battery run my whole home during an outage?

Not automatically. Backup capability and supported circuits vary by system. Essential loads, surge requirements and installation design must be assessed.

07Are government incentives available?

Eligible systems may receive federal or other incentives, but values and rules change. We confirm the applicable treatment at quotation rather than relying on outdated headline figures.

08Do panels need maintenance?

Modern systems are relatively low-maintenance, but safe visual checks, monitoring and professional inspection can help identify issues. Do not climb onto a roof to clean panels yourself.
